Founder/Owner - Managing Director
After qualifying as an electrician Darryn practiced his trade in a R&D manufacturing company under great mentorship of senior staff for a number of years. This opportunity fuelled the desire and set the trajectory for his journey of constant improvement, both personally and professionally.
By 2002 Darryn decided to start his own small business, as a sole trader working out of the back of a van but with the big vision of what this industry could be.
His belief, grit and commitment to improving electrical manufacturing has seen Ekka grow to a team of 25+ employees. Darryn knows there is no end game, he always questions ‘how can EKKA make things better for our clients?’
The culture of EKKA started with Darryn - His primary motivation is to make a positive impact on the industries and sectors Ekka do business in and ensure the people working with him know they are valued and key to the overall health and success of the company.
Dave joined EKKA as the inaugural employee from 2004 so has been involved at grassroots level and now key in the evolution of this business.
Previously he worked in commercial construction, but has shown extreme agility in acquiring the skills & aptitude in adapting to other industries new to him.
Dave loves the support and challenges given to him in his current role as general manager. He describes his time in this privately owned company very rewarding and it’s fair to say he treats Ekka as if it were his own. This loyalty is reciprocated with trust to lead the team and manage key clients.
Whilst Dave is a qualified tradesman, those who work with him would consider him more as a strong, fair leader with sound business acumen. Dave has an appetite to work smarter and cascade this throughout Ekka.
